The Radio and Television Authority and NEOM launch the Digital Media Academy to attract Saudi talents

NEOM, in partnership with the Radio and Television Corporation in Saudi Arabia, launched the NEOM Digital Media Training Academy initiative, which aims to provide an incubating environment for the latest technologies and the best international standards in the field of media. With the aim of graduating future media professionals, and enabling them to keep pace with the rapid developments in the media arena in the field of filming, developing and producing short video content, in addition to distributing local content on digital platforms, under the supervision of the media, Nada Al-Shaibani.
The academy will provide a training program that will include, in its pilot phase, 30 young men and women from all over the Kingdom, to enable them to develop their skills and refine their expertise in the field of filming and producing short video content, allowing them to learn about scientific concepts and practical applications in the field of producing and managing meaningful digital media content. The academic partnership with the Radio and Television Corporation will allow the possibility of adopting these experiences and providing them with promising professional opportunities by opening employment paths in various specializations for graduates of the program who have achieved impressive results.
Mohammed bin Fahd Al-Harthy, CEO of the Radio and Television Authority, stated that the authority's contribution to these development initiatives comes in reinforcement of its original role in contributing to the manufacture of young national competencies capable of achieving the leadership's aspirations and participating in achieving the goals of the Kingdom's Vision 2030 AD.
Al-Harthy revealed that the training program comes as the first step in a future project adopted by the Radio and Television Authority, in cooperation with entities that provide the desired addition, such as the NEOM company, to give Saudi media talents the opportunity to develop their professional expertise, according to the highest standards that qualify them for a professional media future.
The program will start on July 4, and the curriculum includes three components designed to match the accelerating pace of new media work, including training workshops, interactive seminars, and group work to produce media content that will cover the basics of storytelling, principles of journalism, and publishing methods on communication platforms. The program will conclude with the presentation of group and individual projects by the participants of the program.
This program will be the second of its kind that NEOM launches after it provided, in partnership with the National College of Film and Television, a grant for Saudi talents; In order to study filmmaking and obtain a certificate as well as obtain a master's degree.
Commenting on this, Wayne Borg, CEO of NEOM's media, entertainment, culture and fashion sectors, explained: "Our success will depend to a large extent on our ability to provide the media sector with the local talent it needs to succeed in the long term."
Borg added: “In addition to our partnerships with international media schools to develop a modern media infrastructure that embraces the best local talents and capabilities in NEOM, this new cooperation with media experts, such as Nada Al Shaibani, and a prestigious institution such as the Broadcasting Corporation, allows for the provision of training courses that may lead to opportunities.” Short-term employment, with the possibility of opening promising pathways for employment with permanent contracts in the future.

The broadcaster, Nada Al Shaibani, is one of the most important presenters of programs in the Arab world, as she began her professional career in 2003, and gained a good reputation as a leading sports broadcaster in the region. Nada is currently the host of "This Is Me", a weekly talk show on Abu Dhabi TV. It is worth noting that Nada is one of the pioneers who support sports activities for Gulf women, and she is the first woman in the region to obtain a FIFA diploma in sports management. Nada holds a master's degree in Sports Management from the American University in the United Arab Emirates.
